There is nothing quite as beautiful as a person living their life in a state of unapologetic liberation. People who just are, in a world of obligations and imitation. Those individuals who hold onto their diversity and wild nature in a society where we are constantly bombarded by media and entertainment telling us how to live, think and even rest. So how do we cultivate that art in our lives? The art of freedom...

Have Drive, Don't be Driven

This has always been my biggest struggle in personal freedom and sometimes its hard to distinguish if you have drive or you are being driven. The biggest test for is to check if we are doing something out of passion or obligation. Obligation drags or pushes us, leaving us bruised and battered whereas passion gives us the energy to run on our own.

Align Your Life With Your Core Desired Feelings

One of my greatest book discoveries last year was Danielle Laporte's Desire Map. It introduced me to a whole new way of structuring and goal setting where big (and small) life decisions are made by  aligning with personal core desired feelings. This allows a huge amount of freedom in your life because even though things don't always go as plan you are clinging to your true values and feelings and living out life in a way that is your truth.

Embrace Your Way of Rest

Find what gives you rest and pleasure and cling to it, make time for it and incorporate it into the landscape of your life. Every day we are bombarded by magazines, advertisement and websites that tell us how to indulge and enjoy ourselves, but it doesn't work, because everyone is different. Finding your true loves and places of rest are as personal as your own fingerprints. Once you have found those ways of retreat prioritize them.

Seek Inspiration not Imitation

Often the line between inspiration and imitation is blurred in our current landscape. I often hear other women using the term 'inspiration' in a context of imitation which is actually a corruption of it. We need get back to our own creative and artistic natures, developing our own beauty that is a refraction rather than a mirror image of the beauty around us.
