My first experience of a healthy green smoothie was not a good one. It wasn't a pleasant consistency and tasted too sweet and too bitter all at the same time with no yummy pops of flavour. A good energizing smoothie should be packed full of energizing and alkalizing greens and have a good amount of protein to boost energy and satisfy your appetite. However... it should also taste amazing!
This green smoothie is my personal favourite, it fulfills all these requirements and is vegan/dairy free. It also has root ginger and mint for heating and stabilizing the digestive system which is always good after a strenuous workout.
The above ingredients serve one huge smoothie or two regular ones. I personally like to opt for the big smoothie as I have this as a post hike snack. The only instructions are to blend till smooth and enjoy!
