Austenmania Week

Or it sort of feels this way... Last week I discovered the wonders of The Lizzie Bennet Diaries (and the newly begun Emma Approved webseries). So... I am slightly geek-ing out over it all. Its wonderful how they have maintained the essence of our beloved Austen and injected it into such a believably modern setting! Also the webisodes are nice and short so it doesn't take too long to catch up

Yesterday I went to see Austenland in the city. I had enjoyed the book a few years ago but I wasn't expecting to be wowed by the film. Goodness, was I wrong! The characters were unique, and likable and very well acted. The costuming was stunning! There was the perfect mix of romance, intrigue and comedy and Mr. Noble made the perfect Darcy-alike. On top of all this one of the male leads was a kiwi-homegrown actor, which always makes me feel proud.

I also decided during the course of this movie that I need her tote!

Kiwi's just are more attractive ;)

Mr Noble made the perfect broody male lead

Afterward I was pleasantly surprised to find that the cafe in the cinema food court served tea and scones on real china. I am always pleasantly surprised when small cafes and businesses go the extra mile to add character to their service (and it added to my weeks Jane Austen theme)

Guess what books I'm planning to get out from the library this week? I'm gearing up for a book binge!

Behave my lovelies. Peace. Q.S.B.
