Growing up in South East Asia has greatly shaped my food philosophy and cooking style. I love to create foods inspired by the simple, yet delicious street foods so prevalent in countries like Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. One of my favourite street foods (or in this case drinks) is the Indian Lassi smoothie. I don't usually make yoghurt smoothies as I am lactose intolerant but I was very lucky to come across some organic, lactose free, pro-biotic yoghurt when on my last shopping trip and have been enjoying some tasty Lassis. Here is my current favourite:
Ingredients (1 Large or 2 Small Glasses)
1 Cup Organic Pro-biotic Yoghurt (lactose free if your lactose intolerant)
1 Large Ripe Banana
2 Cardamom Pods (broken, with seeds removed)
1 Spoon Rose Water
Turmeric
Blend the above ingredients thoroughly and garnish with a pinch of turmeric. Enjoy.
