This Saturday was the date of the general elections in New Zealand. I generally find that for myself, and my friends, its a pretty 'chill' affair. I woke up early and dawdled down to the local school and filled in my ballot. It wasn't the most exciting experience of my life, but I think its important to exercise ones democratic rights when one can.
After submitting my vote I decided to reward myself with a treat from the gorgeous
Bolaven Cafe.
Every day I pass the cuteness that is this cafe while driving to work
and it calls to me incessantly with its gluten free, healthy food and
adorable decor. I finally tried it out and it exceeded my every expectation, I love the Loatian inspired food and interiors with their contemporary twist. I had their cinnamon spice tea and lemon grass syrup cake which paired together perfectly. I'll also definitely be heading back to try their full meals.
I spent the rest of the afternoon bulk cooking. I have a busy week planned ahead so I decided to be pro-active and have all my meals cooked and ready. I also did some food experimenting and will have some fun new recipes to share with you all complete with fresh seasonal produce.
This afternoon I headed into the inner city to do some exploring and relaxing. I needed some serious introversion after a series of very stressful weeks and today was perfect for it. I love harbours in drizzly weather - they look so picturesque and dramatic so I had fun taking some quirky photos in the chilly weather.
After a walk in the cold, I decided to check out the
Conservatory and warm up with some hot food. Their outdoor couches are heated! which I found very exciting, so I curled up and read my book while enjoying the outdoors for a little while. So far I am loving Will Grayson, Will Grayson but that is probably because its by John Green, who continues to be one of my favourite authors of all time.
