Scenes From The Weekend: Planning Trips, Roaming Auckland and Live Music

I love Friday nights! Most Fridays I have a night in with a perfectly scheduled lot of me time. Last weekend I had a nice long soak with my favorite bathory salts mix, a gingerbread candle and did some planning for my overseas trip next year. I am so excited to be going to Asia and look forward to sharing more with you all as the trip nears and eventuates.

Saturday rolled around and I had a marvelous day roaming central Auckland with the delightful Sophie. We did a cosmetic shop at Mecca and Mac and I purchased my new favorite lippy shade "all fired up" I have been wearing it loads since! We also did some fun window shopping and finished our day off in the cozy nook that is Al's Deli. Their pickles and chips are absolutely delicious and addictive and the interiors are oh-so-cute.

On Sunday I caught a nasty cold and spent most of my day in bed drinking bucket loads of lemon, honey and ginger herbal infusions and sipping miso soup. However, I dragged myself out of bed in the evening to go watch one of my favourite bands live. I'd gotten Angus and Julia stone tickets a couple of months ago and would have had to be on deaths door to miss it.

To put it simply the concert was amazing. The opening act, Vancouver Sleep Clinic, was excellent and their songs have now been added to most of my Spotify play lists. They are indie pop/rock with a haunting eerie feel - a great soundtrack for a chilled night it. Angus & Julia Stone exceeded my every expectation their music is even more creative and infectious live. Julia is simply gorgeous, major girl crush there.

So that was my weekend, apologies for the late post. My cold has kept me in bed for a couple of days. What is your top live music memory?
