Over the last few days I have been enjoying exploring different areas around Auckland. Yesterday I enjoyed having a look around the interesting suburb of Ellerslie. They have an amazing and extensive organic wholefoods store which stocks just about everything. Their grains and pulses alone take up two isles.
While in Ellerslie I stopped by the charming "Grind On" Cafe for a cuppa of spicy chai and their huge freshly baked scones. Their scones are by far the best cafe scones I have ever tried. Mine was moist and fluffy with the perfect amount of cheese, still warm from the oven. Nomsies.
After exploring Ellerslie I decided to have a peek at the Auckland Botanical Gardens. They currently are holding their annual Sculpture in the Gardens Exhibition. The gardens were in their element - in that is mid way through rose season and there were heaps of butterflies.
