Fresh Flowers

Spring is my favourite season: the slightly chilly weather - making blankets and fluffy socks my friends, the rainy days - leading to cosy book and movie sessions, the baby animals - from lambs to ducklings and the fresh colours and smells of flowers.

Springtime in NZ also means cheap fresh flowers. Fresh flowers are about one of my true favourite happinesses. There is something about their vibrancy and beauty that brings so much joy into the room. Today I wandered down to my local grocer and bought some beautiful sunset coloured rosebuds and alstroemeria. Now I am enjoying their beauty, adding some colour to a drizzly day.

Now I'm of to make frittata, which I always think is just glorified bubble and squeak. Perfect rainy day dinner. Peace. Q.S.B.
