Top Teas: My Christmas Tea List

Its almost December and that means... Christmas time! You generally have two sorts of people in this world; People who love Christmas, and people who hate it with a passion. I am a Christmas obsessive, the baking, the decorating, the music. I just dive in head first.

Being a tea lover I love to celebrate the holiday season with a delicious brew. Whether its a steaming cuppa in the evening or an iced tea in the heat of the New Zealand summer, for me Christmas time is tea time. I thought I'd share with you my top tea picks for this holiday season in case you'd like to enjoy a cup or two of brew or give some as a Christmas gift to your tea loving friends.

1) Harney & Sons Hot Cinnamon Sunset
It may not be a white Christmas in sunny New Zealand but that doesn't mean you can't crack out the Christmas spices. This spicy, hot and sweet tea is as much of a treat as candy and is the perfect accompaniment to a good book and some Christmas music.

2) Fine & Dandy's Kawa Kawa and Lemongrass Tea
Fine & Dandy is a great up and coming local New Zealand tea business. They blend beautiful organic, fair trade teas my current pick being their herbal Kawa Kawa blend. This infusion has a light peppery flavour with some citrus-y sweetness from the lemongrass. I've been enjoying it on these warmer summer evenings while enjoying the late night summer sunsets.

3) Chapter's Vanilla Sencha Tea
I love supporting local businesses that strive for excellence and Chapter truly provides an excellent range of teas and is such a cute shop. They have a brilliant selection of flavoured greens and my current favourite is a vanilla sencha. The flavours blend beautifully and its vanilla aroma is delicious, perfect both iced and hot.

4) Zealong's Organic Pure Tea
I couldn't write a tea post about my current favourites without giving mention of Zealong. Their pure tea, made of unroasted leaves has a fresh, sweet flavour and is one of a really excellent quality. In fact just writing about this has made me tip toe downstairs and brew a cup to enjoy with my evening read.

So those are my top four teas for this Christmas season. What are your top teas? What is your favourite thing about the Christmas season?
