Scenes From the Weekend: Foodie Times (and exciting news)

Hi Guys! Sorry for the blog silence. As I mentioned, I would be a bit sparse on posts due to a busy time and it turns out I got even busier because my boyfriend of four years flew to New Zealand and proposed! So following this we went on a little holiday to Rotorua together and I have been with little engagement related details for the last week. But I'm back!

Samantha Ngaire Photography did such a great job on our engagement photos

This last weekend was a blast. On Saturday morning I went back to the Parnell farmers markets and stocked up on some gorgeous produce and fresh flowers. I have decided meandering the markets is my favourite Saturday morning activity. After shopping I met up with my good friend Sophie and we tried out Little Bird Unbakery and went book shopping in the rain. The food at Little Bird is outstanding, I am definitely going back to try the whole menu.

I picked up couple of awesome new books when book shopping and have been enjoying Heavenly Hirani's School of Laughing Yoga. The descriptions are vivid and colourful and the characters are so much fun. Such a great read read.

On Sunday I went to the Taste of Auckland festival with my friend Mikayla. I feel so inspired! I got to try beautiful new produce, eat top chefs foods, binge on oysters and sit in on a class from Anthony McNamara. Anthony does a lot of work with sustainable seafood and it was exciting to hear about different NZ fish and how to cook Hake. I'll be definitely using this inspiration to share some recipes very soon.
