Recipe: Spicy Feijoa Crumble/Cobbler (Wheat and Dairy Free, No refined Sugar)

I think it is safe to say it is definitely getting cooler. With this chilly Auckland weather comes the need for lots of yummy comfort food. One of my favourite winter desserts is crumble (cobbler). I went on a little produce explore yesterday and picked up some beautiful feijoas. This fruit is so delicious and versatile and  it makes a really beautiful cooked dessert.

Spicy Feijoa Crumble (Serves Four, 10 minutes preparation and 25-30 minutes cooking)

Crumble
1 Dessert Spoon of Heaped Coconut Oil
1 Teaspoon of Honey
1 Cup of Oats

Filling
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1 Heaped Teaspoon Honey
1 Tablespoon Water
10 Feijoas

Instructions
Filling
Preheat oven to 190 degrees celsius. Halve feijoas and scoop out the soft flesh placing in the bottom of a oven friendly earthenware dish. Drizzle honey and sprinkle cinnamon on top. Add Water.

Crumble
Mix honey and coconut oil into oats until well blended with a breadcrumb like consistency. Pour crumble over filling and place in the oven, baking for 25-30 minutes (until crumbs are golden brown).

Enjoy with almond milk and greek yoghurt.
