My Marvelous Easter

Friday was my birthday so part of my birthday celebration involved a wonderful trip to Queenstown and Dunedin to enjoy the gorgeous autumn colours, drink lots of elderflower cordial and go for tonnes of long walks. I enjoyed this trip with one of my dear, old friends and we had so much fun gadding about.

The highlights of my trip were:
Having tea and dumplings in the tranquil Chinese Gardens, Dunedin. Every inch of this place is stunning and beautifully oriental. It has given me some gorgeous ideas for my own garden.

Wandering the lakes and gardens of Queenstown. I have been to a lot of beautiful places in my life but this is by far one of the most breath-taking. The atmosphere was so much fun too! There were sweet and quirky Cafes and street performers dotted everywhere and everyone was so friendly and exuberant. Best holiday destination in a long time.

There were so many other wonderful experiences in my trip and I can't share them all but here are some photos to leave you with...

The architecture of the Chinese Garden was amazing.

Every corner had a breathtaking view

I loved these huge gorgeous pinecones. It was a pity I didn't have room in my suitcase for any.

There were little woods everywhere

I was so happy that my mustard knit matched all the falling leaves.

My little trek in Arrowtown

Queenstown's Lakes - I loved walking here

Central Otago at its best

Fresh Orchard Fruit - beats Easter chocolate every day
