Entertaining: Brownie Bar and Games

This afternoon I was going to explore another local walking track/national park, however mother nature did not agree with this plan, and as it is bucketing with rain and quite chilly I thought it better to stay in, put on some comfy leggings, get a cup of tea and do some blogging.

Last night I had an intimate gathering with some close friends, with board games and a brownie bar. I had seen on pinterest an idea for brownie waffles so I decided to take it to another level and make a brownie bar where guests could mix batter with a mixture of  filling options and top their resulting brownie waffles with even more awesome toppings.
Brownie Waffles - in all their glorious splendour
Brownie bar - from top, left: whipped cream, maple syrup, caramel, strawberries & cherries, nutella, slivered almonds, fresh blueberries, white chocolate chips, icing sugar, complete product, brownie batter. (I also had icecream and frozen yoghurt)
Brownie Batter Recipe:

Ingredients:
120 grams butter (softened)
3/4 cups brown sugar
11/4 cup flour
3/4 cup cocoa
1 cup yoghurt
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla

Instructions:
Cream butter and sugar, add dry ingredients and mix well. Create a well in mixture and add yoghurt, eggs and vanilla and mix into a batter. If the batter is still on the 'dry' side add extra yoghurt. Spoon mixture into waffle iron adding any desired fillings and cook until crispy on the outside. Enjoy!

So how did it turn out? It was awesome, and super fun having everyone personalize their own brownies. I have decided that nutella on brownies is ahmazing.
